What is PSC exam?

The word PSC Stand for Public Service Commission.  Basically, PSC conducts the exam to recruit candidates for Central Government services apart from this even states of India has the authority to conduct state PSC exam to recruit candidates for the State government services.  well if we talk about UPSC it is the central level exam but if we talk about State PSC it is the state level exam which is conducted by different- different states, like MPPSC, UPPSC.

Does PSC exam pattern is different from UPSC?

As we understand on the above question but to more easily understand read below points.

There are mainly 2 types of exams in India.

  1. UPSC, it is Central level exam for central government services.
  2. PSC, it is State level exam for the state government services.

The pattern of the PSC exam is slightly different from the UPSC because syllabus may vary from state to state. i.e Pre + Mains then an interview but In some of the states mains exam have an objective-based exam while other states have a descriptive-based exam.
